End of Year for 2024

In 2024, the office filed 3165 cases, which consisted of 819 criminal cases and 2346 traffic cases.  This is down from previous years.  I credit this to our law enforcement’s effectiveness in the previous years.   Our Sheriff’s Office, the municipalities of Hartville, Mountain Grove, and Mansfield, and the Highway Patrol worked an increase in case files and tickets in the years of 2022 and 2023.  I believe that even though number for 2024 is down this is the fruit of their labor.  I know they will continue their work in keeping our County safe.

The office continues to work very hard at collecting restitution for victims of crimes.  For the year 2024 we collected $80,009.09.  We also provide services to victims such as notification of court appearances, bond hearings, and case dispositions.  In 2024, my office provided services to 413 new victims.   The Victim Advocate position is grant funded. The total number of contacts the Vicitm Advocate had with victims during 2024 was 3486 contacts, which include phone calls, in person meetings, letters, and emails.

The Prosecutor’s office is responsible for child support enforcement.  In 2024 we collected $190,438.13.

In 2024, we were successful in two jury trials that resulted in guilty verdicts and prison sentences.  We anticipate  two to three jury trials for 2025.

I want to thank the citizens of Wright County for the opportunity to serve. I also want to thank law enforcement for their dedication and professionalism.  Finally, I want to thank Erin, Sabrina, Terra, Heather, and Brenda, employees of the Prosecutor’s Office, for their efforts in keeping the office functioning and seeking justice.
