Wright County Prosecutor, John Tyrrell, is pleased to announce that Eddie Barnett was sentenced to eight years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on February 4, 2021 for attempted statutory rape. This case was investigated by Mansfield Police Department Officer Nathan Bogart. Judge Carter sentenced the defendant.
Prosecutor John Tyrrell states, “I want to thank Chief Hanger and Officer Bogart for the result in this case. The defendant received an eight-year sentence in prison with probation denied. This defendant will have to register as a sex offender for life and will serve time in prison. We were able to accomplish the joint goals identified by the victim’s family and my office.”
